In 2008 Poll Dorsets were introduced into the Anden Sale. The Poll Dorset Stud, Viewdale, Flock No. 368 was founded and registered in 1960 by George & Stan Donnan. The Stud went into recess in the early 80’s.

With a view to provide sheep breeders with the type of ram they wish to strengthen their breeding program, in 2006, Andrew decided to re-activate the Viewdale Poll Dorset Stud, once run by his grandfather & father. Originally purchasing Poll Dorset ewes in lamb from Wyndamah and Banyenong West. We endeavoured to set high standards with this breed, ensuring breeders would achieve greater lamb market returns.

With the introduction of the Ultra Whites, 2016 was the last time Poll Dorsets were sold in the Anden Stud sale.

The genetics from the Viewdale Poll Dorset Stud have played a huge part in the development of the Anden Ultra Whites breeding program. We hope we haven’t disillusioned those buyers with Poll Dorset backgrounds, but encourage them to try an Anden White Suffolk or an Ultra White… knowing they will be pleasantly surprised come market day.
